Program Summary
The Code establishes that all private development in the Urban Center (T5) and Urban Core (T6) zones is subject to a mandatory public art requirement. Façade improvements and interior renovations are exempt from the requirement. To satisfy the public art requirement, developers must commit one half of one percent (0.5%) of the development’s threshold value to on-site artwork, not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00). Alternatively, developers may pay an in-lieu fee to the City valued at forty five percent of one percent (0.45%) of the development’s threshold value, not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00).
